Training and Various Needs:-
For meeting the needs of the local cadres in industry and business and also in the government sector, in the early part of the 19th century, commerce training and education programs were formally started through vocational courses. These courses were raised to the postgraduate and undergraduate stage, after its formal introduction. For those who wanted to take commerce course after 12, the courses were opened for the colleges and universities in the form of B.com and M.com. During the period of 1920 - 40, there were numerous institutions which were established. While the Institute for the Chartered Accountants was established in 1934, the Indian Institute of Bankers was established in 1926. As courses of commerce were established in India at the University of College during this time, the Federation of insurance institutions was established in 1955.
Though in India it is more of theoretical education rather than practical aspect, commerce education was defined as a practical training. With lack of standardization and uniformity in content, of course, lack of coordination between professionalism between professional bodies and universities and insufficient method of teaching, there are several drawbacks which can be shown. There is an expectation that a commerce teacher is a jack of all trades. Commerce education was linked to accounting and clerical personnel, in the early days. However, with the changing dynamism, the coaching classes are catering the needs to several other branches of commerce and providing a dynamic scope for people to shine with commerce subjects.
