New Syllabus for CS Executive Programme Set by ICSI

ICSI has set a new syllabus this year. Students who are preparing in coaching institutions of CS Executive Classes, must ask the faculties about the syllabus. 

ICSI has structured a new syllabus for the professional and the executive programmes of Company Secretary Course. All the coaching centers for CS Executive Classes in Kolkata are now following the updated syllabus only. This version of the syllabus includes nine papers including one elective paper. Time allotted for each paper is three hours and marks allotted for each paper is hundred marks as per the newest syllabus. The new structure of the syllabus is expected to offer the CS Executive students a broader prospective. ICSI adopted a creative concept while developing and designing this new syllabus to enhance the prospective of the CS course. 

What is the Objective of the New Syllabus for the CS Executive Course? 

The main objective of the CS Executive Course is to build a cadre of CS Executives by imparting professional skills, knowledge, and training, which are the basic pre-requisites for the proper functioning of a Company Secretary. The skills and knowledge determine whether the candidate is fit for appointing as a trainee or a full-time employee. This means, the new syllabus for the examination assures to give a wider framework as compared to older version.  

Applicability of the New Syllabus for the CS Executive Candidates:-

• The first stage or the first level of examination of CS Executive under this syllabus, will be conducted in December, 2018.
• The candidates who have registered their names for the examination on or after 1st March, 2018, should prepare in the CS Executive Classes, according to the updated pattern as they will be examined under the new syllabus. 
• The students, who have registered their names before 1st march, will be allowed to sit for the executive programme examination that will be conducted on or before December 2019, under the older version of the syllabus. The same candidates can also opt to appear the examination under the new syllabus as well. 
• From the beginning of June 2020, the Executive Programme Examination will be conducted according to the new syllabus only.

The First Module Includes the Following: -

• Jurisprudence, Interpretation and General Laws
• Setting up of the business entities and closure
• Company Laws
• Tax Laws

The Second Module Includes: -

• Corporate and Management Accounting
• Security Laws and Capital Markets
• Economic, Business, and Commercial Laws
• Financial and Strategic Management

Almost all the reputable coaching institutes are now following the modified syllabus only for making the students get accustomed to this new examination pattern, which in turn will help them to easily get the qualifying marks
